Caoilinn Hughes
Rating:
EARLY, EMERGING
Summary:
Details
This workshop will take place online. Detailed instructions for participation will be provided.
There's only so much exposition, interiority and descriptive prevarication a writer can get away with before a novel dies on the page. As in Caoilinn Hughes' The Wild Laughter, the beating heart of fiction resides in its scenes.
In this workshop, Hughes shows how scenes function at both the micro and macro levels, and demonstrates how to create unforgettable scenes through details, setting, dialogue, action, and sensory precision.
A creative collaboration with Melbourne Writers Festival. There are a limited number of places held for Writers Victoria members at a membership rate. Please choose the concession price when purchasing tickets.
Included in this course:
- Three hours of information, education, industry advice, tricks and tips
- Writing exercises to help hone your craft and reinforce your new skills
- Personalised feedback from Caoilinn on an unforgettable scene of your own up to 500 words
