What comes first: character or story? In this course, early and emerging writers will discover that if you create a character you will create a story. Through discussion, activities and inspiring writing exercises, we will learn tools and techniques for building complex, vivid characters; deepening characterisation; uncovering all-important character motivations; choosing the best point of view; and writing convincing dialogue. We will breathe life into our characters and also let them surprise us.
